It has been reported by multiple news sources that a natural gas leak caused a fire to break out at the state-ran oil and gas explorer Oil India LTD’s Baghjan well in the state of Assam, eastern India.
Operations were suspended by Oil India at it’s Baghjan oilfield as the result of an ongoing uncontrolled gas emissions combusted on May 27th. Reports from the company indicate that the fire was brought under control by experts. Luckily, they are also reporting that there were no casualties as a result from the fire. AFP news Agency reported via their twitter account that the gas leaked for two weeks before ignition. It is also reporting that the leak was a result of an exploded well.
