The Srisailam Left Bank Hydel Power Station suffered a major fire outbreak that caused several injuries and fatalities on August 20th. A federal investigation is being conducted to find the cause. Preliminary reports suggest an auxiliary transformer exploded that stemmed from a cascading emergency.

Authorities have also suggested that the exhaust fan inside the facility malfunctioned. TSGenco Chairman has also reported further investigations are warranted because the plant did not function as designed.
