According to a report published by S&P Global Market Intelligence, U.S. solar and wind implementations will hit a new record in 2022. This is largely due to the quick transition behind energy sources.

According to these reports, the firm is expecting to see as much as 44 gigawatts of large utility-scale solar implementations, as well as 27 gigawatts of wind power, will become operational within the next year. In regard to solar, this is nearly twice as much as 2021’s estimate of around 23 gigawatts. Wind power’s 2022 projections surpass the average annual record of 16 gigawatts that was set in 2020.

Many other countries are on track to implement the same solutions within their regions, as global companies continue to switch energy sources.

Despite the global forecasts for renewable energies, it is projected that these solutions will only fulfill about half of the global energy demand in 2022. Although the rate of renewable energies has an impressive growth, statistics show that coal and gas will be needed to cover the other half of global demand. With the increasing demand for energy in 2021 as well as 2022, emissions will also rise to record levels.

This uptick in energy consumption requirements makes a reverse pathway for organizations such as IEA’s “Roadmap to Net Zero by 2050”. This illustrates that while renewable energy sources are expanding quickly, unfortunately, it is not enough to quench the global demand for energy sources.

Whether the energy solution is petroleum, diesel, coal, or renewable energies such as solar, wind, and batteries, Senkox has the perfect solution to monitor fire and overheat conditions.
